The PPP Arbiter is a public authority under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FoI Act). The FoI Act requires the Arbiter to allow access to the information he holds. The Arbiter will only withhold information where it is protected by one of the exceptions under the FoI Act.

You can access the Arbiter's Freedom of Information Request Form here.

Publication Scheme

The FoI Act requires the Arbiter to maintain a Publication Scheme.  As a result of Publication Scheme Development and Maintenance Initiative, the Information Commissioner's Office introduced a model to be adopted by public authorities with effect from 1 January 2009. The Arbiter has adopted this model scheme as its own publication scheme.

Guide to information available

The Information Commissioner's Office requires public authorities to provide
guidance on the information which they make publicly available, and how that
information can be accessed. The Arbiter has produced a guidance
document, entitled the "Publication Scheme: Guide to information", which
explains:

- the information the Arbiter will routinely make available;

- how the information can be accessed; and

- whether or not a charge will be made for it.

The Guide is not a list of the Arbiter's publications, which will change as new
documents are published and out of date documents are withdrawn. Instead, it is a
description of the classes of information currently published or intended for future
publication by the Arbiter.
